White Cedar House is a family centered care facility that focuses on housing families for extended periods of time with hospitalized children (often more well knows as Ronald McDonald Houses). They provide lodging and accommodation that can greatly reduce stress, anxiety, financial obligation, and the length of hospital stays. Overnight accommodation supports families to enable effective participation in their child’s treatment and recovery. The facility will offer a variety of amenities and necessities needed to help reduce stress and focus on families’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Colorful muted hues of teal, olive green, burnt orange, and yellow will fill the space with a modern organic design. A mix of light and dark wood tones will be spread throughout the space to bring a sense of nature and life into the building. Comfortable furniture and durable finishes will aid in the overall design aesthetic but allow for long lasting and welcoming design. White Cedar House is a warm and welcoming facility where families are able to connect with others and focus on their personal mental and emotional well-being. With the use of bright colors and elements of nature, this will provide a distraction for everyone during challenging times.
